Dive into a World of Color and Light!
Join us for an exciting watercolor workshop where kids will explore the magical art of creating glowing effects! This time, our theme takes us under the sea, where vibrant colors and deep contrasts will bring a variety of underwater subjects to life.

What to Expect:
In this workshop, kids will learn to use drawing gum (masking fluid) to preserve the whites of the paper and create striking glowing effects with watercolors. Our friendly instructors will guide young artists through layering richly colored washes and using strong contrasts to make their artwork shine. With a range of ocean-themed subjects to choose from, each child will learn how to achieve a luminous effect that makes their underwater scenes pop off the page!

Key techniques covered in this workshop include:

  • Using Drawing Gum: Discover how to mask out areas and keep them white for a stunning glowing effect.

  • Rich Layers and Contrasts: Learn to build depth by layering colors and understanding the power of light and shadow.

  • Understanding Color Value: Explore how different values (lightness and darkness) affect the mood and focus of an artwork, a fundamental concept in visual arts.

By the end of the session, each child will have a beautiful watercolor painting showcasing their new skills and understanding of color value.
